WAYNESBORO – Downtown Waynesboro welcomed car enthusiasts Saturday, June 21, for the Cruisin’ the Main Car & Truck Show. The event spanned Broad Street to Potomac Street and ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration for trophies and awards took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers distributed dash plaques to the first 250 vehicles to register. Trophies were awarded to the top 30 entries, plus additional honors for best of show.
Attendees participated in door prize drawings and a 50-50 raffle throughout the day. Despite the limited registration window, 210 vehicles entered the show, highlighting strong community interest and support for the annual event.
“This was our second biggest downtown car show in more than 20 years of hosting them. We registered 200 vehicles representing more than two dozen different car brands from Rolls Royce and Volkswagen to Studebaker and Ford.” – said Bill Kohler, director of Economic Development at Mainstreet Waynesboro.
Hats off to all of those who brought their cars to downtown Waynesboro, all of our great volunteers, our generous sponsors, and members of the Appalachian Golden Classics who run the show.
“Our mission is to bring people downtown to see all of the good things we have to offer, and the car and truck show has a great track record of bringing people together,” said Bill Kohler, director of Economic Development at Mainstreet Waynesboro.
“Personally, I love seeing all of the cars from the different decades,” Kohler said. “It’s like taking a trip back in time.”
Mainstreet and the Golden Classic Car Club plan to host the car show on Father’s Day weekend next year, as was the tradition for many years, Kohler said.
