Totem Pole Playhouse is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a summer lineup featuring Broadway favorites, comedy and a new Tuesday night series in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania.
The season opens May 30 with “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” a jukebox musical running through June 8. “9 to 5: The Musical” follows with 20 performances from June 20 to July 6, bringing Dolly Parton’s music and workplace comedy to the stage.
Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” runs July 18-27, serving up a fast-paced comedy mystery. “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” takes the spotlight Aug. 8-24, celebrating the legendary singer-songwriter’s life and hits. The mainstage season concludes with “Diamond: The Neil Diamond Tribute” Aug. 27-31, featuring eight performances of classic songs.
A new “Tucked Away Tuesdays” series debuts, offering short-run shows with affordable pricing. The lineup includes Marc Cordes’ “The Spouse Whisperer” on June 10, Brady & Caroline’s Piano Bar Duo on July 8, and Boston Bachert’s Variety Show on July 29.
Producing Artistic Director Ryan B. Gibbs said the season is designed to honor the playhouse’s legacy and welcome the next generation, with a company featuring Broadway talent and over 30 local artists and technicians.
