Theatre round-up

This spring, local theaters across south-central Pennsylvania and western Maryland have a wonderful lineup of performances this spring. From timeless musicals to youth productions, stages in Franklin, Washington, and Frederick counties are coming alive. Whether you prefer a lighthearted beach tribute or a modern satire, there’s a show this month that will match every taste.

Franklin County, Pa.

The Chambersburg Community Theatre will be hosting a show titled “Steel Magnolias” from May 1-3. Viewers may click here to visit their website and learn more about this event and purchase tickets.

Greencastle Amateur Players are holding open auditions for “Alice in Wonderland” on April 23 at 5:30 p.m. and April 25 at 2 p.m. at the Jerome King Playground Bandshell. The production will be staged July 10 and 11, and all ages 5 to 18 are welcome to audition.

The Waynesboro Children’s Theatre Troupe is looking for local businesses to become a sponsor for this year’s WCTT’s “Shrek the Musical.” The production expenses of each show exceed $25,000 yearly and are in need of assistance. Washington County, Md.
