The Institute’s StoryWalk Sunday on Sept. 10

WAYNESBORO—Area families are invited to attend The Institute’s monthly StoryWalk® Sundays adventure for kids on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

Kids join a guided walk and activities along the story trail as they read a story book, then make a special craft project to take home.

The featured book is The Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall, with illustrations by Shari Halpern.

“This is a charming book with colorful collage-style illustrations that children are sure to enjoy,” said Pam Rowland, The Institute’s director of education.

The story follows two young sisters as they watch the progress of their apple tree through the seasons—from a bare tree in the winter, through the pink blossoms of the spring, to the appearance of tiny green apples, and finally to the apple picking in the autumn once the fruit is big and red. It’s time to make an apple pie!

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by Sept. 8. Register online at: www.NatureAndCultureInstitute.org

For more information, email [email protected] or call 717-762-0373. Limited to 20 children.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.
