WAYNESBORO—Area families are invited to attend the first in The Institute’s new series of StoryWalk® Sundays adventures for kids on Sunday, Nov. 14, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.
The stories posted on the StoryWalk® trail at Pine Hill Park will change monthly, and plans call for a special event to accompany each one on the second Sunday of the month.
Kids will enjoy a guided walk along the story trail as they read the book, then make a special craft project to take home—and warm up with a campfire and yummy s’mores!
The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required. To register, email to: [email protected] or call 717-762-0373. Limited to 15 participants.
Children in grades K–5 may be dropped off and picked up at 3 p.m. All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.
For November, the storybook is “Bear Says Thanks” by Karma Wilson.
“This beautifully illustrated book is a heartwarming celebration of family and friendship, and perfect for the season of thanksgiving,” said Pam Rowland, The Institute’s education director.
On December 12, StoryWalk Sunday features “The Animals’ Santa” by Jan Brett. January’s book is The Mitten, also by Jan Brett.
