The Honeybee to be Featured in StoryWalk

Institute educator Lynn Teach reads a storybook with participants in a past StoryWalk® event. The next story trail event is on April 16 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

WAYNESBORO—Area families are invited to attend The Institute’s monthly StoryWalk® Sundays adventure for kids on Sunday, April 16, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area.

Kids join a guided walk and activities along the story trail as they read a story book, then make a special craft project to take home.

Spring is the season for pollinators, and the featured storybook for April is “The Honeybee,” by Kirsten Hall, with illustrations by Isabelle Arsenault.

“Kids will love the sweet honeybee in this picture book,” said Pam Rowland, The Institute’s education director. “The verse is fun with lots of buzzing and the story celebrates the importance of honeybees to all of us.”

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by April 13. Register online at: www.NatureAndCultureInstitute.org

For more information, email [email protected] or call 717-762-0373. Limited to 20 children.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.

Pine Hill’s StoryWalk® trail, an Institute project, was funded in part by WellSpan Summit Endowment, Marge Kiersz and Rouzerville Business Association, with in-kind support from Washington Township, Hopewell Manufacturing, Waynesboro Area School District “Be the Village,” and Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library.
