WAYNESBORO – The Rotary Club of Waynesboro is inviting area high school students to take part in the District 7360 4-Way Speech Contest, set for Jan. 22, 2026, at Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
The competition is open to students ages 15 to 19 who attend secondary school or are home-schooled at the secondary level. Participants may not compete in another Rotary-sponsored 4-Way Speech contest.
Contestants will deliver a five- to seven-minute speech applying the Rotary 4-Way Test to a chosen issue and proposed solution, addressing whether it is truthful, fair, builds goodwill and benefits all concerned.
The top three finalists from the school trials will advance to the Waynesboro club finals, scheduled for Feb. 24 at the Waynesboro Country Club. Awards include $300 for first place, $200 for second and $100 for third.
The club winner will move on to the Rotary District 7360 Regional contest March 7 in Hancock. District finals will follow on March 28 in Bellefonte, where top prizes of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 will be awarded.
Applications are due by Jan. 19 to Brian Fisher at Waynesboro Area School District. Additional details and entry forms are available at www.ridistrict7360.org under District Youth Programs.
