SMITHSBURG, Md. — Hundreds of visitors, and possibly more than a thousand over the two-day run, gathered at the Smithsburg Carnival Grounds over the weekend for the annual Smithsburg Steam & Craft Show.
The free event, held Saturday and Sunday at 22 N. Main St., brought together antique machinery enthusiasts, crafters, food vendors and families for demonstrations and displays celebrating agricultural history and local craftsmanship.
Steam engines, tractors and other vintage equipment were among the attractions, while demonstrations included a shingle mill and grain threshing. Visitors watched machinery in operation and explored displays representing earlier eras of farm work and rural life.
More than 100 craft and food vendors also participated in the show, offering handmade items, specialty products and food throughout the weekend.
The event drew a steady flow of attendees to the carnival grounds, where families moved between vendor booths, machinery displays and demonstrations. The turnout reflected continued community interest in hands-on historical demonstrations and local makers.
The Smithsburg Steam & Craft Show is a two-day community event that combines agricultural heritage, antique equipment and craft vendors. Admission was free.
