CHAMBERSBURG— The anticipation is over for STAGE Campers as the cast list for this summer’s production of Oliver! Jr. has been officially announced. Following a weekend of spirited auditions, young performers across the region are preparing to bring Lionel Bart’s beloved musical to life in a whirlwind five-day rehearsal process.
The production will feature Jake Daly in the iconic role of Oliver Twist, with Thomas Barra as the Artful Dodger and Connor Davenport as Fagin. Other principal roles include Ali Ross as Mr. Bumble, Grace Markloff as Widow Corney, Ginger Moore as Nancy, and Nico Vanarsdale as Bill Sikes. The cast also features standout performances from Nova Montello as Mrs. Sowerberry, Brystan Weller as Charlotte, and Delaney Farr as Mr. Brownlow. The full cast list showcases a wide array of young talent, with dozens of ensemble members and specialty roles filled by local youth.
Guided by director Courtney, music director Seth, and choreographer Erin, the cast will begin intensive rehearsals in the coming weeks. “These kids are ready to work hard and have fun,” said Ms. Courtney. “We can’t wait to see them shine on stage.”
In keeping with STAGE Camp’s tradition of youth empowerment, the production will also be supported by a kid-run tech and stage crew. Under the mentorship of tech directors Aaron and Mat, students like Preslee McKenrick, Liam Trusky, Esteban Perez, and others will manage every aspect of backstage operations, from lighting to set changes.
