Our golf tournament is back this year and it’s going to be better than ever!
It’s in memory of Mike Krugh, a CVAS board member who passed away far too soon and worked hard every year to put together a golf tournament for our animals. Mike adored his dogs, and I loved the stories he would tell me about them.
This year’s golf tournament will be on June 6 at the Caledonia Golf Club in Fayetteville. I know it’s been a rainy spring, but let’s get out on those greens and help our animals at CVAS.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 for a foursome scramble tournament.
The fees are $95 per player or $350 if you register a foursome. The fee includes golf, cart, goodie bag, team photos, luncheon and prizes.
Lunch will be provided by Maddie Ann’s Kitchen.
The field is limited to 108 players, so if you want to take part, make sure you sign up soon.
There will be six holes for prizes for Closest to the Pin, and mulligans and powerballs are also available.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams, as well as for the longest drive.
We also have a special contest prize hole. Get this – the first person to get a hole in one at this specific hole will win a Pebble Beach golf vacation for two that includes lodging and airfare. I’m not even kidding about this. How amazing would that be?
We still have a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for our golf tournament, including hole sponsors. If you have a beloved family member – two-legged or four-legged – you would like to honor or if you would like to get the name of your business out on the greens, a hole sponsorship would be a great idea. For $125 you can sponsor a hole, which will include a sign that all the golfers can see.
We are also looking for other sponsors, including lunch co-sponsors and cart co-sponsors as well as others. They are a great way to have a lot of people see your name or your business.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the animals in our kennels and help us care for them every day. As of this writing, we have more than 200 cats and more than 50 dogs in our care. It takes a lot to look after them and our golf tournament will help make sure we can.
