SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Gracen Nutt had a match-high 15 kills and Elise Bragg had 11 kills to lead Shippensburg to a 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23 win over Shepherd University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East match.
Kearstin Davis added 36 assists and 16 digs for the Red Raiders (8-6, 1-0).
Shepherd (10-4, 0-1) was led by outside hitter Amya with 14 kills and nine digs. Smithsburg graduate Emily Ryder added 13 kills and Sophia Ryan had six kills and a team-best four blocks.
Also leading the Rams were Ada McCoy with eight kills and eight digs, Madigan Faircloth with a match-high 18 digs and a pair of aces and Macy Buso carding a match-high 41 assists, six digs, and three blocks.

Shepherd ranked 17th in United Soccer coaches poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Shepherd University women’s soccer team is ranked 17th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll for Sept. 30. The Rams moved up from 24th in last week’s poll.
The Rams battled to a 2-2 tie with then No. 21 Bloomsburg on Saturday.
Cal Poly Pomona maintained No. 1 status.
Bloomsburg fell to No. 25 in the poll.

Houck Named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Shepherd University goalkeeper Aidan Houck was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Houck led the Rams to a 2-0 week. He had six saves in a 4-1 win over UPJ and added four more in a 3-0 win over Slippery Rock.

South Hagerstown 3, Frederick 2
Malea Moore collected eight kills and 18 digs, while Tenley Yost added eight kills, two blocks, three aces and five digs on Monday in South Hagerstown’s 25-18, 19-25, 15-25, 25-25, 15-11 victory over Frederick.
Isidora McCarty had six kills and 12 digs to support the Rebels, while Jaliah Morgan posted seven kills, four aces and five digs. Aubrey Socks had five aces, 19 assists and eight digs and Reilly Foley came up with 21 digs in the victory.
WOMEN’S GOLF
HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Sara Veara won tournament medalist honors as Shepherd University finished in fifth place in a nine-team field at the Millersville Women’s Fall Classic at the Black Rock Golf Course on Sunday.
Veara fired a two-round total of 143 (-1) to win the tournament. Marymount took the team title.
Natalee Johnson (18th) backed Veara’s effort, followed by Williamsport graduate Kaylie Brown (177, T-25th), Addison Buckland (193, 37th), Allison Wallace (215, 44th), Grace Academy graduate Madison Burns (249, 47th) Paige Stickley (265, 48th) and Ava Biafore (139, 62nd).

Shepherd takes 12th at Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Collegiate
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Shepherd University finished 12th in a 17-team field on Tuesday at the Pitt-Johnstown Sunnehanna Collegiate Tournament at Sunnehanna Country Club.
Boonsboro’s Morgan Dehoff fired a three-round total of 212 and tied for seventh place to lead the Rams.
He was followed by Trey Rios (216, T-25th), South Hagerstown’s Joey Leisinger (220, T-47th), Killian Donnelly (222, T-59th), and senior Nop Satjavitvisarn (232, T-89th).
Gannon University shot a three-round total of 854 to take team honors. Hector Arriaga of Glenville State took medalist honors with a score of 205.
