SHIPPENSBURG – Guard Marcus Banks and forward Favor Okigweh each scored 14 points to lead Shepherd University to a 54-51 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East men’s basketball matchup.
Shippensburg led 32 -18 at the half but Shepherd (18-9, 14-6) rallied from a dismal shooting display turn the tables. The Rams shot just 20% – 7 of 35 – in the first 20 minutes before finding the range by hitting 52% in the second half.
Banks added nine boards, three steals and two assists, while Okigweh grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.
Shepherd guard Elwyne Wordlaw added 10 points, while forward Daouda Traore (had 10 rebounds.
Jaydon Smith and Timmy Conner each had 10 points to lead the Raiders (13-14, 8-12). Denzel Figueroa added six points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Shepherd 73, Shippensburg 56
SHIPPENSBURG – Forward Lamaria Estridge scored a game-high 14 points on Wednesday to lead Shepherd University over Shippensburg in PSAC East.
Estridge added six rebounds.
Guard Kara Wehner added 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists for the Rams (11-14, 9-11), while forward Vilte Kacerauskaite had 12 points and six boards. Forward Summer Shackelford also had 10 points.
Melana Eyer had 12 points for the Raiders (3-24, 2-18). Kiara Hardy had 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Makayla Foddrell contributed nine points and eight rebounds.
Shepherd connected on 51.9 percent (28-54) of its field goals, including 52.6 percent (10-19) from three-point range.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Shepherd 21, Wheeling 6
WHEELING, W.Va. – Shepherd University used a balanced scoring attack to press past Wheeling University on Wednesday to give Rams head coach Braxtin Reddinger her first career win.
Midfielder Britney Warner, attacker Kloey Batchellor and attacker Hadley Robertson each scored three goals to lead Shepherd (1-1). Attackers Holly Poe and Rebekah Forney, along with midfielders Katherine Stevenson and Grace Lyon each netted two goals.
The Rams scored eight consecutive goals in the first half to take a 10-4 lead into the break. Stevenson, Warner, and Batchellor each had a pair of first-half goals.
Forney and Stevenson each added two assists.
Rebekah Stotler recorded a goal and two assists, while midfielder Aubrey had a goal and an assist. Midfielder Jordan White and attacker Grace Meyer each tallied a goal.
Defender Luetta Seipp had four ground balls and three caused turnovers to lead the Rams defense.
Shepherd had a 37-19 advantage in shots with a 29-13 edge in shots on goal.

Shepherd names Meals to head coaching position
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Director of Athletics Carrie Bodkins announced Bob Meals has been named head women’s soccer coach for the Rams.
Meals comes to Shepherd after serving as the interim head coach of the women’s program at American International College in 2025. He served as an assistant at Fitchburg State University in the early part of the 2025 season.
He previously served as a longtime assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Massachusetts Boston from 2018-25. He assisted with the planning, management, and coordination of all aspects of the program to ensure smooth operations and strategic success.
Meals also had a stint as the head women’s soccer coach at Eastern Nazarene from 2016-17.
Additionally, Meals has an extensive coaching background in club soccer. He served as the National Premier League Director for Scorpions Soccer Club. He served as the head coach for the 00/99 NPL and 02 NPL teams. He also did skills training for the U13 to U19 Elite Club National League players.
