Shalom Christian Academy hosted a summer event to kick off The Bridge Forward Capital Campaign – a funding initiative to expand Shalom’s building. The June 1 event celebrated how far the school has come, and also invited the community to join in to help raise $3 million in additional funding to complete the current $10 million phase.
The event included tours of the construction progress, desserts, and a prayer and worship event showcasing all that has been accomplished so far since construction began in the fall. Current parents and students shared about their experience at the school and encouraged others to get involved in the campaign.
Director of Development Mrs. Suzanne Poe invited families and community members to join in the capital campaign. She shared how the school started and how the current expansion project is similar. “Back in 1976, a group of faithful believers envisioned a place that would partner with families to prepare students—not just for tests or diplomas—but for a life of consequence in the world for the Kingdom of God. And that dream became reality. Shalom Christian Academy was born,” she said. “We are picking up the torch of vision passed down to us—and we are carrying it forward.”
The 42,000 square foot addition is expected to open in fall 2026 and includes:
42,000 sq ft steel structure
state of the art gymnasium
4 critical secondary classroom spaces
ADA compliant upgrades new sprinkler system installed in current building
increased parking space and on-campus roadways to safely and adequately service families, faculty, staff, students, and guests
dedicated concessions area
Companies involved in the expansion project include Brechbill & Helman (General Contractor), David H. Martin Excavating (Site Contractor), and Galbraith Pre-Design Construction (Steel Building Supplier and Erector).
Fundraising for the project is ongoing through The Bridge Forward Capital Campaign. Shalom Christian Academy invites the community to join the movement to complete the addition to the school. “Any amount is a blessing toward this campaign,” Mrs. Poe said. A new brick paver sponsorship program was unveiled at the event “Whether it’s in memory of a loved one, in honor of a teacher or student or in celebration of your family’s legacy of faith — every brick is a special reminder of those who support our school. Please consider purchasing a brick for the brick garden. All proceeds will benefit The Bridge Forward Capital Campaign,” she said.
