WAYNESBORO – Santa made a splash Sunday at the Waynesboro Area YMCA, joining children in the pool for the center’s annual Swim with Santa event.
The festive gathering featured Santa and Mrs. Claus greeting families while youngsters tossed beach balls and swam during the holiday-themed pool time. A Polar Bear mascot also stopped by to mingle and join in the fun around the gym.
Inside the gym, families enjoyed games, crafts, raffles and refreshments, including cookies and punch. Parents snapped photos with Mrs. Claus as children shared their Christmas wishes and joined in holiday activities.
The event benefited the YMCA’s aquatic programs. Organizers said turnout was strong as snow fell outside, making the cozy indoor celebration a perfect kickoff to the season.
