FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Drivers traveling Route 30 near Caledonia State Park should expect weekday traffic changes beginning Monday as PennDOT starts the first phase of a bridge replacement project in Green Township.
Crews will reconstruct shoulders on the eastbound side of the Lincoln Way bridge spanning Rocky Mountain Creek. The work zone will extend between Route 997, also known as Black Gap Road, and Golf Course Road.
PennDOT said lane shifts will be used during weekdays throughout the fall construction period. Flaggers may direct traffic when needed.
The shoulder work is the first part of a larger project to replace the bridge. A second construction phase is planned for early next year.
That stage is expected to include lane shifts protected by barriers and a detour for trucks using Route 997 and Route 233. PennDOT said two 12-foot travel lanes will remain open through the work zone during that phase.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time, watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution near workers and equipment.
