WAYNESBORO–The Waynesboro-Greencastle Red Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army was successfully completed on Christmas Eve.
Local donations collected at the Rouzerville Walmart store totaled over $14,800–an increase of nearly $400 over donations in 2020.
Ninety percent of the donations will be used by the Salvation Army in the Waynesboro-Greencastle area.
This successful campaign was due to not only generous donations, but also to the volunteer efforts of groups and individuals to man the kettles and ring the bells. Churches and organizations included: Great Commission Deliverance Ministries, Experience Life Church, Rouzerville United Methodist Church, Christ United Methodist Church, Historic Salem Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Waynesboro Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro Lions Club, and the Bob Reagan family singers.
Included in this total were contributions made at these Counter Kettle locations: Frank’s Pizza (3 locations), Velvet Café, Parlor House, Toledo’s Pizza, Park Tavern, Montezuma’s Restaurant, Savage, Pharmacy, Jess & James, Pen Mar Antique Mal, and Postmaster’s.
The campaign was handled by Bernie and Lou McGarity for handling this part of the campaign.
The following individuals also rang bells: Mary Margaret Bittle, Orlando Valentin and sons, Greg Geiger, Dave Burkholder, Jean Koons, Linda and David Goodman.
The Rouzerville Walmart associates also contributed to the campaign.
