Public invited to Feb. 19 cyber crime, sextortion program offered by FBI, family impacted

WAYNESBORO – The public is invited to a Feb. 19 program on cyber crime and sextortion, which tragically hit the home of a Shippensburg family. The program will be at 6:30 p.m. at Waynesboro Area High School auditorium. Registration is requested at 717-762-1191, extension 1127.

The program presenters will be FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Ford and Shippensburg mom Tricia Maciejewski, who lost her 13-year-old son, Levi, as the result of a sextortion scheme.

Ford, who has been part of the Harrisburg FBI office, will share the latest trends, threats and realities that face our children in the digital world – what kids are seeing, saying and sharing online, who is targeting them and how, red flags to watch for and practical strategies to keep your child safe and engaged in healthy conversations

Maciejewski and her husband, Shippensburg University football coach Mark Maciejewski, have started the Live Like Levi Foundation to share the spirit of Levi by providing scholarships, charitable giving, community support initiatives and educational resources that benefit individuals and communities. The foundation’s web address is http://www.livelikelevifoundation.org/.

How you can live like Levi

Love your family. Say “I love you” and hug them tight, no matter who is watching.

Be bold and kind. Confident and humble. Honest and respectful.

Play hard, show good sportsmanship and appreciate your coaches.

Be a supportive friend. Celebrate and encourage them.

When you shake a hand, look them in the eyes.

Have fun each day and work hard at everything you do.

Listen, learn, study hard and respect your teachers.

Be country, an athlete, a scholar. No matter what, be proud of who you are.

Embrace your personal style with swagger.

Be a patriot and proudly display the American flag.

Trust in God, because you “can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV).
