Local and state police are joining forces to target aggressive drivers as part of a statewide enforcement wave that will run from March 18 through April 26.
The operation, coordinated by the Pennsylvania State Police and about 300 municipal agencies, aims to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths tied to aggressive driving. Any driver stopped for aggressive behavior will be issued a ticket.
Officials said this spring’s enforcement will focus on distracted driving, speeding and work zone awareness. Police will also watch for motorists driving too fast for conditions, following too closely or displaying other unsafe behaviors.
The effort is part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program and is funded through PennDOT’s investment of federal funds provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
