GREENCASTLE — The community of Greencastle will host the annual Picnic in the Grove this Sunday, Aug. 17, at 1032 Buchanan Trail East. The event, running from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., promises a day filled with entertainment and local flair.
A bluegrass band will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., delighting attendees with traditional tunes. Old-fashioned games will offer fun for all ages, including peanut and candy scrambles for kids and adults at 1:30 p.m. Fire trucks from Blue Hose Co. No. 1 will be on display, supporting a fundraiser for the next three weeks.
The event features a petting zoo, a small train ride, and plenty of tables for visitors to enjoy. Food vendors and a flea market will showcase local goods, with free setup available for kids selling lemonade or games. The day aims to create lasting memories while supporting local heroes.
