WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Families packed the Lowe’s parking lot Tuesday evening for National Night Out, where emergency vehicles, public safety agencies and community groups turned the lot into a hands-on showcase of local service.
Visitors met members of the Washington Township Police Department, fire companies from Blue Ridge Summit and Waynesboro, and representatives from the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. Army, Marine Corps and Navy personnel also took part in the event, which featured kids’ games, food trucks, live music, face painting and inflatable activities.
Valley College nurses, Healthy Communities, the Franklin County coroner’s office, Franklin County Juvenile Probation, WellSpan EMS, Antietam Humane Society and Pen Mar Youth League were among the organizations on hand. Local sponsors and businesses included Washington Township, George & Sons, Lowe’s and Great Clips, while Nifty Eats and Fat Russ BBQ served food.
