WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Rough Edges Brewing hosted its fourth annual Homebrew Competition and Festival at Main Street Park, drawing community members for an evening of local flavor, live entertainment and friendly competition.
Originally scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m., the event was delayed by weather and ran from 5 to 8 p.m. But it still featured 14 beer samples from six homebrewers, along with food from Fat Russ BBQ and live music. Attendees sampled entries and voted for their favorites as judges selected top finishers.
Ethan Taylor earned the People’s Choice award for his Mexican lager, while Ben Lanier took both first place for an English strong bitter — which will be brewed and released at the 2027 competition — and third place for a pale ale. Jay St. Michel placed second with an imperial stout. The brewery also released “Hoppy Beerthday,” the 2025 winning India pale lager by Jason Gahan, available on draft and in crowlers for a limited time.
