HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Hagerstown Community College President Dr. Jim Klauber administered the oath of office to his son, Jake Klauber, during a commissioning ceremony into the U.S. Air Force on Sunday.
A retired U.S. Army officer, Klauber had the rare opportunity to formally commission his son, marking a significant personal and professional milestone for the family.
Jake Klauber is a 2024 graduate of HCC’s Early College program and earned his bachelor’s degree in 2026 from Mississippi State University. He is set to begin pursuing a medical degree this fall at the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine.
College officials noted the ceremony as a meaningful moment reflecting both academic achievement and a commitment to military service.
Jake Klauber joins the Air Force as he prepares to continue his education in medicine, with aspirations to serve in both capacities.
