HAGERSTOWN – Six Rotary Clubs in Washington County are joining forces to host the Dave Henneberger Memorial Bull & Oyster Roast, a longstanding community fundraiser set for Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Hagerstown Community College ARCC.
The event, presented by the Rotary Clubs of Downtown Hagerstown, Hagerstown Sunrise, Hagerstown Sunset, Hancock, Williamsport and Boonsboro, continues a tradition of more than 25 years that has drawn approximately 1,200 attendees annually. All proceeds benefit local charities, with Rotary Clubs in the county having distributed about $3 million over the past 40 years for capital improvements to non-profit organizations.
Doors open at noon, and the event runs until 5 p.m. Admission is restricted to those 21 and older. Ticket prices are $75 per person if purchased by Tuesday, Feb. 17; $80 after that date; and $85 at the door. No refunds are available.
The menu features fresh shucked Chesapeake oysters and fried oysters, along with a buffet provided by Leiter’s Fine Catering. Offerings include crab soup, hand-sliced top round of beef, sausage sizzlers, golden fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, a cheese tray and cookies. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available.
Attendees can enjoy gaming tables, tip jars, games of chance such as blackjack and roulette, and a silent auction hosted by the Sunrise Rotary Club.
