Jerry N. Stout, 93, of Greencastle, PA, passed away May 19, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family.
Born March 9, 1933, in Thompson, IA, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Gertrude Flugum Stout.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Milton Stout of Albert Lea, MN, and Roger Stout of Lake Belton, TX.
Mr. Stout was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of Trinity Luthern Church, Greencastle since 1957. He was a life member of the Greencastle American Legion, the Greencastle V.F.W., life member of the Greencastle Rescue Hose, life member of the Greencastle Sportsman Club, a member of the St. Thomas Sportsman Club and the Mercersburg Moose Club.
Mr. Stout was a barber in Greencastle for 58 years. He enjoyed tennis, golf, hunting, and his Harley. He and his wife Shirley enjoyed many trips that took them from coast to coast on the Harley.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley (Ward) Stout; son Jeffrey and his wife Tammy; one daughter, Lori Ann and her husband Kirk Thibault, and son Andrew Stout and his wife Shawn; six grandchildren, Janie Mills and her husband Jon, Rachel Watson and her husband Mitch, Alan Thibault and his wife Maria, Joshua Stout, Megan Stout, and Opal Stout; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Cooper, and Jackson; and many nieces & nephews.
A memorial service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 South Washington Street, Greencastle PA, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Military Honors provided by Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post#1599, in the funeral home parking lot.
Jerry’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the funeral home.
A private Internment will take place at Little Cove Stone Church Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
