HAGERSTOWN – The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will host a special Garden Night celebration on Sept. 12, featuring the debut of a major new exhibition and an evening of live music and community festivities.
The event, titled All-American Night at the Museum, will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. in the museum’s gardens. Guests will be the first to view In Nature’s Studio: Two Centuries of American Landscape Painting, an exhibition highlighting the tradition of American landscape art.
Adding to the festivities, The Silver Tones Swing Band will perform throughout the evening, offering big band favorites for visitors to enjoy. The museum will also provide popcorn, cupcakes and root beer floats free of charge while supplies last.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs or picnic baskets for a relaxed evening outdoors. Pre-ordered picnic boxes from Gordon’s Grocery will also be available.
Founded in 1931 by Anna Brugh Singer and her husband, William H. Singer Jr., the museum has long served as a cultural cornerstone of Hagerstown. With this September celebration, the institution continues its mission of bringing art and community together in a welcoming space.
