Middletown Valley Bank Sponsors Institute Capital Campaign

WAYNESBORO—Middletown Valley Bank has donated $25,000 in support of The Institute’s capital campaign, Ensuring the Future, to create a new nature center near Waynesboro.

The Institute purchased a 40-acre rural property in Washington Township with plans to transform the property into a nature education center and living classroom for both students and the greater Waynesboro community.

“We’re grateful for this generous commitment from Middletown Valley Bank,” said Tracy Holliday, Institute executive director. “This gift complements the bank’s annual support of community outdoor arts performances which have included Shakespeare in the Park and recently, An Evening with Poe. We look forward to hosting live arts performances at our new center.”

Middletown Valley Bank provides personal and business banking services, including mortgage lending solutions through its subsidiary, Mlend. The cornerstone of the MVB brand is built on providing Absolutely Exceptional Experiences to customers and to the communities in which the Bank operates. Founded in 1908, today MVB serves communities in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

“We are proud to support The Institute and their efforts to provide environmental and cultural education in the Cumberland Valley region,” said John Blubaugh, vice president, commercial market leader at Middletown Valley Bank. “The programs and events they organize reach a wide audience and inspire creativity and a desire to learn.”

A nonprofit organization, The Institute provides programming in environmental education and cultural history for area school children, plus a variety of workshops, lectures, programs and annual community events for all ages.

The Institute has raised $2.5 million toward their $3 million goal. For more information about how you can support the campaign, visit www.NatureAndCultureInstitute.org, or contact The Institute at 717-762-0373 or via email: [email protected].
