WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The sweet smell of chocolate filled downtown Waynesboro Saturday afternoon as the annual Mainstreet Chocolate Stroll sold out all 140 tickets on a sunny day that reached the upper 60s.
Residents and visitors from across Franklin County — including a couple originally from California who recently moved from Gettysburg — enjoyed sampling handcrafted sweets, sipping local brews, and strolling along Main Street with their Tasting Passports in hand.
Ticket holders began their tasting adventure at 66 West Main Street, where they picked up passports for access to 21 participating stops. Businesses and eateries served everything from truffles and cheesecakes to chocolate-infused drinks and desserts.
Among the highlights were Zoe’s Chocolate Co., The Candy Kitchen, Brio Coffeehouse, The Cheesecake Lab, The Crispy Biscuit, Misty Meadow Farm Creamery, Rough Edges Brewing, and Taqueria La Cienega, along with other downtown favorites.
Guests also enjoyed live music from Willeby Hayes and a Champagne toast at the event’s finale.
Specialty offerings impressed sweet-toothed fans, including Michaux Brewing Co.’s White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Beer and Rough Edges Brewing’s Reckless Breakfast Oreo Imperial Stout.
The day also featured the popular Boro Bake-Off, which crowned Tiffany Garner as first-place professional winner. In the amateur category, Corinne Bitner took first place, Ella Bitner earned second, and Hazel Dorius received third.
Event sponsors included McLaughlin’s Energy Services, Verity CPA in Waynesboro, WACCO Properties, and in-kind supporters AFS Insurance & Financial Services and Martin’s Food Store.
The event marked another successful celebration for Waynesboro’s downtown, drawing locals and visitors alike for an afternoon of community connection and small-business support.
