CHAMBERSBURG – Chambersburg’s IceFest 2026 returns this weekend, transforming downtown into a sparkling winter wonderland filled with ice sculptures, family activities and community spirit.
The four-day festival runs Thursday, Jan. 29, through Sunday, Feb. 1, featuring live ice carving, a chili cook-off, an ice slide, live entertainment and much more. Skilled carvers from Glacial Ice Works LLC will sculpt 15 giant ice creations live on Thursday and Friday as crowds gather to watch each frozen masterpiece take shape.
A variety of activities throughout the weekend invite residents and visitors to experience the best of downtown Chambersburg, from exploring local art galleries and restaurants to shopping in boutique stores. The full schedule of events is available at icefestpa.com/schedule.
While popular carriage rides had been scheduled, they were canceled by the horse and carriage providers due to the extreme cold. Any advance tickets will be refunded.
Other festival favorites include the SnowFall Ball on Friday night at the Capitol Theatre, the move of the popular Chili‑Q and Beer Garden to North Main Street on Saturday, and the “Run Your Ice Off 5K” on Sunday, which wraps up the celebration.
IceFest serves as an important fundraiser for three local organizations—the Capitol Theatre Center, Downtown Business Council and Downtown Chambersburg Inc.—which work together to support local businesses, cultural programming and community development. The festival is planned and coordinated by a committee of community volunteers.
Thanks to ongoing support from local sponsors, IceFest continues to be one of the region’s most anticipated winter celebrations.
