Healthy Franklin County and the Franklin County Library System are inviting residents to step into spring by joining local community walking groups.
The initiative encourages people of all ages to get active, meet neighbors, and enjoy the outdoors together. Each walking group offers an opportunity to explore local communities while promoting healthy lifestyles and social connection.
“Walking is one of the simplest ways to improve physical and mental health,” organizers shared in the announcement. “It’s also a great way to meet people and discover places right in your neighborhood.”
Participants can find walk dates, times, and locations through the library system’s online calendar at discovery.fclspa.org/calendar. Events are free, and many walks are family friendly, making them accessible to all fitness levels.
The program aligns with Healthy Franklin County’s mission to promote well-being through community partnerships and active living initiatives. As spring warmth returns, organizers hope more residents will lace up their shoes and join others for a healthy start to the season.
