CARROLL VALLEY – Carroll Valley Borough is looking for civic-minded high school juniors and seniors to try out for the Junior Council Person Program for the 2025-26 school year.
The Junior Council Person Program, established statewide in 1999, invites a high school juniors or seniors to take an “oath of office” and actively participate in council meetings, conferences, budget sessions and other special meetings. However, the junior Council member will not have voting rights and will not attend executive sessions.
The Borough Council, which has just joined the program, will appoint one junior member to serve during the school year from September until the January meeting, and a second junior member to serve from the February business meeting through June. The junior members will sit close to the Council table, be included in the agenda, ask questions and participate in discussions.
