CHAMBERSBURG – Jim’s Farmers Market is turning 45, and the community is invited to celebrate at a lively “Birthday Bash” on Thursday, June 13, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the market’s location at 255 Grant Street in the city’s downtown.
Founded in 1980, Jim’s Farmers Market has grown to become a staple of the Chambersburg community. This year’s celebration will honor its rich history while highlighting its exciting future. The event promises something for everyone, featuring food trucks, a margarita bar, live music, games, bounce houses, retail and craft vendors and extended market hours. Local favorites Omega Coffee and GearHouse Brewing Co. will also join the festivities with outdoor coffee and beer service at their adjacent properties.
“As we celebrate 45 years of serving Chambersburg, we’re excited to welcome our friends, neighbors, and visitors back for another fantastic Birthday Bash,” said Brian Zoeller, owner of Jim’s Farmers Market. “This event is not just a celebration of the market, but a thank you to the community that has supported us through the years. We’re especially proud to debut our newly renovated section of the market, where Country Heritage Kitchen will unveil an expanded booth that’s double its original size.”
The Birthday Bash will also offer horse rides (pending availability), and parking will be expanded for the occasion in the grassy area off Kennedy Street, just below the market, to accommodate the expected crowd.
“Jim’s Farmers Market is a cornerstone of Downtown Chambersburg,” said Sam Thrush, president of Downtown Chambersburg, Inc. “Its longevity and continued growth reflect the strength and spirit of our community. We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone and support the market’s next chapter.”
