CHAMBERSBURG – The Institute for Retired Persons has released its Spring 2026 program schedule, featuring 35 educational and entertainment lecture sessions running from March 9 through April 16. The organization also announced several key leadership transitions following the resignation of its information coordinator.
The upcoming semester offers a hybrid format, with one-hour Zoom presentations held Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m.. In-person sessions will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Menno Haven Life Center, 300 Ridgeview in Chambersburg.
Lecture topics for the season range from historical deep dives to modern technology and health. Notable presentations include a look at the FBI files of author Pearl S. Buck, the origins of Father’s Day and the military applications of artificial intelligence. Medical professionals from WellSpan are also scheduled to discuss new procedures for sleep apnea and chronic back pain.+3
The enrollment fee for the full semester is $25 for individuals or $40 for couples. There is no charge for Menno Haven residents or participants who attend exclusively via Zoom.+1
In addition to the program updates, the IRP is managing a shift in its administrative structure. Due to the departure of the former information coordinator for a full-time position, the organization has designated new primary contacts for various departments:

- General Business: Dr. Kathy Worthington, IRP director.
A members meeting is scheduled for April 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Menno Haven Life Center to close the semester with leadership updates and treasurer reports.
