Waynesboro’s baseball team delivered their strongest offensive performance of the season on Tuesday, overpowering Greencastle-Antrim with a commanding 14-1 victory. The Indians’ bats were on fire, resulting in their highest run total so far this year and marking their largest margin of victory.
This win extends Waynesboro’s streak to two consecutive victories, evening their season record at 7-7. Their recent success has been fueled by a standout pitching staff, which has allowed just three runs combined over the last two games. Meanwhile, Greencastle-Antrim has hit a rough patch, dropping four of their last five contests and falling to a 7-7 record as well.
Both teams will be on the road for their next matchups. Waynesboro travels to face West Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, where they’ll try to halt the Mustangs’ four-game winning streak. Greencastle-Antrim is set to play Northern York, also at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and will need to contend with a Polar Bears pitching staff that has limited opponents to just 3.1 runs per game this season.
