HAGERSTOWN – Hagerstown Community College is now enrolling student parents for the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) federal grant program for the fall 2025 semester. The initiative provides financial support for child care costs, helping eligible students pursue their degrees while balancing parenthood.
The CCAMPIS program offers weekly stipends to cover child care expenses at approved, nationally accredited providers, including Charlotte’s Nexus at HCC, Little Jack’s Corner (North), My Favorite Place and Bright Beginnings Child Care Center. Students must apply online at hagerstowncc.edu/academic-advising-and…/ccampis, though eligibility does not guarantee admission.
To qualify, students must be enrolled in at least three credits at HCC, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, have completed financial aid forms for the current academic year, be eligible for or receiving a Pell Grant and plan to graduate within one to three years. Accepted students must meet with a CCAMPIS adviser twice per semester, attend one workshop per semester, and report any changes in child care arrangements within two weeks. Parents remain responsible for any child care costs not covered by the stipend.
The program aims to ease financial burdens for student parents, enabling them to focus on their education. Applications are reviewed comprehensively, considering academic need and program openings.
