HAGERSTOWN – The Hagerstown Police Department has announced two upcoming comprehensive testing dates for individuals interested in joining the department. Testing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Jan. 10.
Candidates will complete the written test, physical test and interview in a single session. The department is hiring both entry-level applicants and lateral police officers. Experienced officers may qualify for signing bonuses of up to $40,000 based on previous service.

The department also continues to promote its starting salary of $61,796 for entry-level officers, along with benefits that include major medical and dental plans, a monthly housing allowance, a take-home car program, and a 25-year retirement plan.
