Greencastle offers opportunity to honor loved ones with Christmas lights

Loved ones honored with a Light of Love will have their name displayed on a scroll in the Center Square of Greencastle during the Heritage Christmas season. Lights of Love can be purchased through the G-A Chamber of Commerce.

GREENCASTLE –  The Greencastle-Antrim Heritage Christmas tree will come to life in the square on Nov. 21 with strings of glittering “Lights of Love” shining in honor of or in memory of loved ones throughout the Christmas season. The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce and Grambo’s Attic, are offering community members the opportunity to purchase a light on the tree and dedicate it to a loved one.

During the Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Lights of Love are acknowledged, and the names are also scripted on decorative scrolls that hang in the windows of the Cumberland Valley School of Music store and Fran Kenawell State Farm office located in the square. When registering, you can also choose to have an acknowledgement card mailed to your friend or family member at no extra charge.

“This is a meaningful and impactful Heritage Christmas tradition,” said Kylie Belle Thomas, Chamber director. “Last year was my first year experiencing Heritage Christmas and the Lights of Love. It warms my heart to hear people sharing memories about someone whose name was a scroll.”

The Lights of Love application is available for download from greencastlepachamber.org/christmas, at the Chamber office located at 217 E. Baltimore St. or by calling the Chamber at 717-597-4610. Lights of Love can also be purchased electronically from the Chamber’s website. The cost is $8 for one name, $15 for two names. Each additional name is $5. In order to be included on the scroll, your Lights of Love form must be completed and returned along with payment to the Chamber by Nov. 11.

For more information, readers may call the Chamber office at 717-597-4610 or visit the Chamber’s website.

Serving the area since 1955, the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce helps members thrive by promoting economic prosperity and community vitality and is a proud partner of the Cumberland Valley Business Alliance.
