GREENCASTLE – The Greencastle-Antrim High School varsity softball team is bound for State College after a decisive 13-0 victory over West Chester on Monday in Hershey. The team will face Penn Trafford in the Pennsylvania state championship game at Penn State University on Friday, June 13.
Community members are encouraged to rally behind the Blue Devils with a send-off and welcome-back celebration. Supporters are asked to gather at the back of Greencastle-Antrim High School on Friday morning to see the team off. The bus is scheduled to depart at 11:45 a.m., with festivities starting at 11:15 a.m. to allow for parking and setup.
On Friday evening, residents are invited to line the streets and pack the high school parking lot to welcome the team home. The bus is expected to return via Exit 5, travel down Route 16 toward the square, south on Carlisle Street and then turn onto Leitersburg Street before reaching the campus behind the middle school and high school. The anticipated return time is between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., though attendees are advised to check for updates on the team’s exact arrival.
Signs and enthusiasm are encouraged as the community comes together to celebrate its state finalists.
