Golden Glow Gala celebrates 30 years of downtown revitalization

CHAMBERSBURG – Officials with Downtown Chambersburg Inc. have announced the Golden Glow Gala, a St. Patrick’s Day-inspired evening of fine dining, entertainment and community celebration on Sunday, March 16, at GearHouse Brewing Co., 253 Grant St.

The event will not only commemorate 30 years of Downtown Chambersburg Inc. but also serve as a vital fundraiser for the upcoming Spring Street Amphitheater, set to open in fall 2025 at 59 Lincoln Way West with 400 seats for community performances and events.

“This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate three decades of progress while paving the way for the future,” said Sam Thrush, President of Downtown Chambersburg Inc. “The Spring Street Amphitheater will be a transformative space, bringing arts and culture into the heart of downtown and further strengthening our community.”

Guests of the Golden Glow Gala will enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day-themed menu featuring short beef ribs braised in GearHouse’s Dry Irish Stout, Jameson-glazed salmon, colcannon, traditional Irish sides, and signature drinks and brews. Additionally, mezza boards from Falafel Shack will add to the evening’s culinary experience.

Live entertainment will be provided by Nick Staver.

“Downtown Chambersburg Inc. has played a pivotal role in revitalizing and growing our downtown,” said Jenna Kaczmarek, board chair of Downtown Chambersburg Inc. “The Golden Glow Gala is not just a celebration, but a call to action. With community support, we can bring the vision of the Spring Street Amphitheater to life.”

In addition to the evening’s festivities, the Pot of Gold Fundraiser with Ludwig’s Jewelers offers a unique opportunity for attendees and community members to donate unwanted fine jewelry (not costume jewelry). Donations can be made at Ludwig’s Jewelers (121 S. Main St.) now through April 15 or at the Golden Glow Gala on March 16. Ludwig’s will then convert the jewelry into funds to support the Spring Street Amphitheater project.

“The Pot of Gold fundraiser allows people to contribute in a meaningful and personal way,” said Ann Wager of Ludwig’s Jewelers. “Your donated jewelry can help create a lasting impact for our downtown’s future.”

Alice Elia and Emily Schuit, both key advocates for the project and Downtown Chambersburg Inc Board Members, emphasized the importance of investing in cultural and economic growth. “The Spring Street Amphitheater is a community-driven initiative that will bring more life, energy, and opportunity to downtown,” said Schuit. “It’s exciting to see so many people rally behind it.”
