CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A $2.7 million allocation in state funds to support construction of a new Aviation Community Center at Franklin County Regional Airport has been announced by state Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-Franklin/Adams).
“This investment is about preparing Franklin County for the future,” Mastriano said.
The grant was awarded to the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority, which operates Franklin County Regional Airport. The Aviation Community Center will provide space for workforce development initiatives, community events, educational programming and partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, businesses and civic organizations.
Funding for the project is being provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Keystone Communities Program, which supports projects that promote economic development, strengthen communities and improve quality of life across the commonwealth.
Construction is expected to begin following final design and project approvals.
