Fun dog show wows crowds at Old Home Week

GREENCASTLE – The 2025 Fun Dog Show, part of the Old Home Week celebrations, took place on Thursday, Aug. 7, at Greencastle-Antrim Elementary School. Held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event marked its 21st year under Cora Crider’s leadership as committee chair.

Approximately 600 attendees enjoyed the show, which featured 58 registered dogs and was sponsored by M&T Bank. Dr. Greg Hoover served as master of ceremonies, with Helen Carlson of Good Time Paws as ring master.

Judges included State Rep. Chad Reichard (R-Franklin), Mayor Ben Thomas, District Magistrate Duane Cunningham, Chief of Police Jason Batistig, Borough Manager Emilee Little, Gracie Russell, Amber King-Reasner, Jen Crouse (B&B Grooming) and veterinarians Dr. Jerry Harness (retired), Dr. Alan Oliver (retired), Dr. Daniel Oliver and Dr. Erica Izer.

A 15-minute intermission between categories five and six featured the Franklin County 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Club’s demonstration.

Volunteers Morgan Crider, Nancy Henry, Shirley Shatzer and Joann Williams, along with sponsors like G-A School District, Praying Time Ministries, Farmers Union Co-op and Greencastle Veterinary Hospital, supported the event.
