‘Friday Night Music Fest’ uses mobile stage to support community causes

RINGGOLD, Md. – The local business, Interludes with Impact, will offer the first of three “Friday Night Music Fests” on Friday, July 4, in support of local charities and foundations. Founder and promoter of Interludes with Impact, Rick Bibbee, built the 12-by-8-foot mobile stage that local music artists will perform on.

Bibbee uses his love of community and music to organize these events. The festivals, held in Ringgold, Maryland, offer community support in a unique way.

Bibbee said he began this journey with the philosophy of “giving good to get good,” what he calls a “one plus one equals three” arrangement. Bibbee said he has been interested in the power of music since he played the trumpet in his high school’s marching band.

He later began to use his skills in sales and organization, gained from his time in the insurance business and background in fundraising, to found Interludes with Impact. Now, Bibbee uses his talents to support local musicians, charities and the community as a whole.

The first Friday Night Music Fest will be in support of the Tunnel to Towers charity, benefiting veterans and first responders in need. The show will feature several local music artists, showcasing a tribute to American music through the ages in many genres, playing both cover songs and originals.

The events will all be at Ringgold Field, 14426 Misty Meadow Road.

Following the kick-off of Bibbee’s summer events will be two more Friday Night Music Fests on July 11 and July 25, supporting the charities Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry and Smithsburg Tractor Society, respectively. Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry is focused on food insecurity and providing deer meat to people in need . The Smithsburg Tractor Society “promotes the future of agriculture while preserving the past.”

Tickets for all three events start at just $1, with the option to give more as a donation, and are available at Interludes with Impact Publishing. Those 17 years and younger can attend for free. Food will be available for purchase at the event that will also directly benefit each charity. Bibbee highlighted that his own business, Woodsetter.com, would match $800 of the proceeds of each event to offer further support to the charities.

The three upcoming events through Interludes with Impact support charities and help platform local musicians while creating accessible, family friendly entertainment for the community. Bibbee said that he believes “It’s not what I do or what you do, but what we do together.” This is the philosophy that drove his project to build a mobile event stage on the side of a truck, offering what is essentially a pop-up music festival, including everything from a sound system to food preparation.

Bibbee said that he believes in paying local musicians for what they do, allowing them to share their talent and practice their craft in the community while being paid for their time. Bibbee uses his experience in fundraising to gather sponsors to support local musicians. This mindset of teamwork and mutual benefit brings an exciting lineup of charity music festivals to the area each summer, as Bibbee finds ways to do good.
