Get those calendars ready; there are a few dates you’ll want to circle.
High school football schedules have been slowly, but surely, getting released over the past few weeks, and now we’ve collected them all from the seven teams in the LocalNews1.org coverage area: Waynesboro, Greencastle-Antrim, Chambersburg, Fairfield, North Hagerstown, South Hagerstown and Smithsburg.
The first day to look forward to is Aug. 28, when Pennsylvania kicks off competition. Chambersburg will be opening its season at home against perennial District 3 powerhouse Manheim Central, while Waynesboro will pay a visit to rival Greencastle-Antrim in the season opener.
One week later, on Sept. 4, the Maryland football season will begin. One of our area’s biggest games will take place on Oct. 30, when North Hagerstown travels to face South Hagerstown in the regular-season finale.
