HAGERSTOWN – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Hagerstown Police Department will host a community event titled “Hot Cocoa with a Cop” on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mission BBQ in Valley Mall.
The free event, open to the public, invites residents to enjoy hot cocoa while engaging in casual conversations with local law enforcement officers. It aims to foster positive relationships between police and the community in a relaxed setting.
The gathering will take place at the Mission BBQ location, 17301 Valley Mall Road, Suite 106, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Organizers encourage attendees of all ages to stop by, sip on hot cocoa — complete with marshmallows — and chat informally with members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Hagerstown Police Department.
Such “Coffee with a Cop” or “Cocoa with a Cop” initiatives are part of a national effort to build trust and open communication between law enforcement and residents. This winter-themed version replaces coffee with hot cocoa to suit the season.
No registration is required, and hot cocoa will be provided free of charge while supplies last.
