HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that a districtwide line painting project is expected to begin Monday, April 14. This work includes the application of white and yellow pavement lines on various routes and ramps in the eight-county PennDOT District 8 region consisting of Franklin, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.
The contractor will work during daylight hours beginning at locations in York County and then Lebanon County.
This will be a mobile operation. Motorists should be alert and give line painting vehicles plenty of room to operate. They should avoid driving over freshly painted lines.
Once temperatures become consistently warmer, line painting operations will move to nighttime hours.
RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Inc., of Hazelton, PA, is the contractor on this $2,827,578 project.
All work is expected to be completed by Nov. 21.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
