CARROLL VALLEY – Mayor Ronald Harris has declared a state of emergency and enacted a temporary ban on all forms of outdoor burning in Carroll Valley. The emergency measure, announced Friday, applies to all residents and visitors within borough limits.
Open burning is defined as the outdoor burning of any materials where combustion products are released directly into the air without passing through a stack or chimney from an enclosed chamber. The ban includes burn barrels, campfire rings, chimeneas and similar vessels, as well as recreational or campfires.
The Franklin Fire Company is urging all residents in the county to refrain from any outdoor burning during this emergency period.
Officials have not specified how long the ban will remain in effect. Residents are advised to monitor local updates and comply with all emergency orders for community safety.
