CHAMBERSBURG— Franklin County Commissioners will meet tomorrow to consider more than $2 million in county spending, housing agreements tied to federal programs, and a contract that would send inmates to Indiana County Jail.
The board is expected to approve $2,028,394.28 in county vouchers, alongside $74,098.64 in prison expenses.
Housing and Community Support
Commissioners will review a lease with Rodney C. and Cindee L. Mose for the county’s HUD-funded Permanent Supportive Housing Program. The one-year agreement, valued at $10,200, provides stable housing with supportive services for residents facing long-term challenges. Participants pay up to 30 percent of their income toward uncovered utilities.
A separate request seeks a three-month extension of a state crime and delinquency grant, pushing its deadline to December 31. The extension would incur no additional cost to the county.
Jail Costs and Oversight
With the county jail facing population pressure, commissioners will consider a contract with Indiana County Jail, which would house Franklin County inmates at a rate of $75 per day. The cost includes meals and would be covered by the county’s general fund.
Environmental Notice
Under Pennsylvania’s Act 14 notifications, commissioners acknowledged a filing by Archaea Energy to renew a Title V operating permit for its INGENCO Mountain View renewable electric facility in Peters Township.
The meeting began at 10 a.m. on August 27, 2025, in Room 824 of the county Administration Building and will be live-streamed on the county’s YouTube channel
