CHAMBERSBURG – The diesel mechanics program at Franklin County Career and Technology Center has achieved a significant milestone, ranking 36th out of 319 diesel programs in the United States and Canada. Led by instructor Kevin Grove, the program stands out as one of the top secondary career and technical education diesel programs in North America.
Students in the program recently earned Daimler Truck certifications, which include Freightliner and Western Star credentials. The ranking is determined by the number of training hours and certifications completed by both students and instructors. More than half of the ranked programs are at the college or post-secondary level, highlighting the achievement of Franklin County’s high school students.
Grove and his students expressed pride in their accomplishment, emphasizing the program’s commitment to raising standards for diesel education. The recognition reflects the dedication of both the instructor and students, as well as the program’s focus on industry-relevant training.
The Diesel Mechanics program continues to prepare students for successful careers in the field, with national recognition validating its efforts and outcomes, school officials noted.
