CHAMBERSBURG – The Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, in partnership with PennCares Support Services, will offer a free presentation for family and grandparent caregivers titled “Self Care: Mind, Body & Spirit.” The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 22, at the Coyle Free Library Rooftop Conservatory in Chambersburg.
Organizers say the presentation will focus on the importance of caregivers prioritizing their own well-being. Attendees will learn the value of self-care before caring for others and discover practical ways to make choices that improve daily living. The session will also offer guidance on separating and nurturing the body, mind and spirit.
Objectives of the event include helping participants understand why taking care of themselves matters, why they should come first and how body, mind and spirit are distinct yet interconnected aspects of wellness.
All participants will receive a free boxed lunch at the conclusion of the event.
Pre-registration is required by Friday, May 9. For more information or to RSVP, readers contact Erica Kershner at (717) 263-2153, ext. 23046, or email [email protected].
