CHAMBERSBURG – Franklin County commissioners will consider a lease agreement between the county and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for office space at the Agricultural Heritage Center located at 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, when they meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The commission meetings are held in Room 824 at 272 N. Second Ave.
The Department of Agriculture will pay rent of $8,747.29 per month from Sept. 1, 2025, through August 31, 2027. The rent will move to $8,880.23 per month beginning Sept. 1, 2028 through Aug. 31, 2029, then increase again through Aug. 31, 2030, to $9,233.84 per month.
In other action, commissioners will consider an agreement between the county and Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. to secure National Bridge Inspection Services for county bridges for 2026-2030 at a cost of $1,480,715.75. This will be paid by federal, municipal and liquid fuels funds. Municipalities are responsible for paying their non-federal share of inspections.
