CHAMBERSBURG – America is poised to celebrate its 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, and Franklin County is joining the America250PA celebration.
Readers can get involved by helping to select the winning submission for the Franklin County America250 PA T-Shirt Design Contest. During IceFest, the public had an opportunity to review 29 submissions and cast an in-person vote while visiting the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center. Now, the online voting phase is underway. To check out Franklin County creativity, readers may visit the online survey here. Then, pick a favorite and cast one vote.
The winning design will be used on the Franklin County America250PA T Shirt. Voting closes at noon on Sunday, Feb. 23. The designer of the winning submission receives $250, a free t-shirt and a special opportunity to speak proudly about a once-in-250-years accomplishment.
Franklin County’s commemoration is striving to bring a fresh perspective and a renewed appreciation to the contributions of Franklin County to the Commonwealth and America.
Upcoming Franklin County America250PA meetings are set for Monday, March 10; Thursday, April 10; Monday, May 12; Monday, June 9; Thursday, July 10; Monday, August 11; and Wednesday, Sept. 10. All meetings are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and held at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center.
